Welcome to the PLEASURE ZONES from Vivid Interactive. This file includes a brief startup guide and instructions to help you get the most enjoyment out of the program. It also includes tips for improving the performance on slower Macs.
Ñ If you don't have QuickTime, or you have an older version that you would like to update, just open the Apple Extensions folder on the CD-ROM and drag QuickTime 2.0 into your system directory. If you have a Power PC, be sure to drag the QuickTime PowerPlug extension as well. Version 2.0 is very new, so if you experience any problems with movie playback, you might want to use QuickTime 1.6.2 instead, which you'll find in a separate folder inside the Apple Extensions folder.
Ñ Use 16-bit color if possible. If you don't have 16 bits of color, go out and buy some more video RAM. Get with it! Although 8-, 4-, and even 2-bit color is supported, the image quality suffers as the bits decrease.
Ñ If you have a large-screen display, the program will operate best in a 640 by 480 window. You can set this from the control panel: just select Monitors, choose the options button and pick the 640x480 mode.
EXPLORING THE PLEASURE ZONES
Start up Pleasures Zones by double-clicking on it. After the introductory movie is over, take a look at your screen. On the right half is a photo of a beautiful woman. If you touch her just right, she will treat you to a movie and a slide show. If you're rough or rude, she'll keep her secrets to herself. Don't blow it!
To start off, that beautiful woman's in charge and she's changing the cursor on the screen. One minute it's a hand, the next it's a pair of lips or a feather. These are the tools of the trade for exploring her Pleasure Zones. If you want to see what other sex goodies are available, pull down the "Goodies" menu at the top of the screen. To heat up your ravishing partner, you must click and rub her in the right place at the right time. For each goody, she will have one or two favorite places for you to apply them. Each time you touch the right Pleasure Zone, she will give you an encouraging message and the red indicator button at the bottom of the screen will move to the right. Don't mess up, or you'll tick her off and she'll cool down. And don't linger too long in the same place, or you'll just bore her. You may need a lot of experimentation to figure out just what she likes. Life is like that. But don't give up ╨ the reward is worth the effort.
If you do the right thing, you'll peg the red indicator and the SexPad¬ panel will slide up, exposing the movie controls. A movie will start playing in the upper left corner, and the photo will turn into a revealing slide-show.
Now you're in for a treat. The SexPad¬ controls let you watch any part of the movie that you desire. Notice the row of three TV monitors on the left. These represent the three acts in each movie. Just press the arrow button under the desired monitor to select an act. If you press the infinity symbol, you'll discover one of the hottest features of the SexPad¬ -- non-stop cut-to-the-chase action! As you can see, these women are insatiable!
Once you have your favorite movie running, you can set its playback speed with the slider. Drag the purple button all the way right to fast forward and all the way left to rewind. In between are the other speeds. The single right-facing arrow is normal speed. Drag the button to the central square to stop the movie completely. After it's centered you can step through the movie one frame at a time by pressing on the left or the right half of the button. Notice that there is another slider on the right side of the screen to control the slide show. Conveniently, it works the same way.
As you watch this sextravaganza, you may have the slide show and the movies both running at the same time. This makes for a wonderful multimedia event, but it may choke a slower PC. If you're having performance problems (and hey, who hasn't at one time or another?) stop the slide show by clicking on the central square in its slider. You can still single-step through the photos without degrading the response of the program.
The musical-note key lets you select different soundtracks for the movie. Right next to the note are the up and down volume buttons. Thus, you can tune this entire multimedia event to your exact specifications. Finally, technology brings you something really useful!
When you're ready to explore the Pleasure Zones of a new gorgeous gal, press the next key (the button with three arrows).
The Menus
Ñ Girls: This menu lets you directly select the woman of your dreams. A shortcut is just to type the first letter of each name, like "R" for Raquel.
Ñ Game: This menu selects the kind of game you want to play. You can also select these games by typing the first letter of their name, like "G" for Go Baby Go.
Teacher's Pet is a good learner's game. You have a beautiful professor who is willing to stay after class with you. Every time you click in one of her Pleasure Zones, she will show you one of her favorite toys for that area. You can use this information to plan your strategies for the harder games. As they say, learning can be fun!
Go Baby Go is for the impatient. It opens the SexPad¬ interface and allows you to access any woman at any time. Real men, of course, would use this option only in an emergency.
She's in Charge is the default game. Your sizzling partner is handing you sex toys and you're the dextrous devil who must apply them to her favorite zones.
You're in Charge gives you command of the sex goodies. Select the desired icon from the goodies menu or just type the first letter of the goody. The cursor will change to reflect your choice. Then carefully click in the correct Pleasure Zone for that woman. Remember, every woman is different. Exploration pays off.
Ñ Level: The menu sets the desired level for each game. It goes from easiest (Virgin) to hardest (Sex-Crazed Maniac). You can also select these levels by typing a number from 1 to 5.
Ñ Goodies: The tools of the trade. The items in this menu can also be selected by typing the first letter of their name, like "F" for Feather. Your choice determines what the cursor is, except for those games where the woman chooses the goodies.
You probably won't want to quit, but you might need to someday. To leave the magical world of the Pleasure Zones, press the "!" button (or the Q key). It clears the screen (which you will want to do when your boss walks in) and gives you one more chance to return to paradise. So what's it to be? Work or paradise? Think it over...
If you have a slow Mac, don't despair. There are ways to make things work better:
Ñ Turn off the slide show. Find the picture you like best and then stop the slide show by centering the slider at the lower right of the screen.
Ñ Run the movie slower. Sluggish CD-ROMs can keep up with a slo-mo movie. Adjust the slider under the movie to lie between the center and the normal play position.
Ñ Switch to 8-bit color. Some Macs are slowed down by the extra memory accesses required by 16-bit graphics.
Ñ Buy more RAM. The more of the program that fits in memory, the faster things run.
Ñ Get a faster CD-ROM. Double-speed drives are the minimum, Triple-speed is better.
